Now I really want to see the play. Will there be chili served? It sounds wonderful. I always love when literature/art and food come together, food for the body co-mingles with food for the mind, both good for the soul!

As Dennis Quinn’s father, I have great affection for him, the monologue, and the chili. I believe Don’s translation of the monologue to recipe represents a refinement to be valued. When I used the ancestral recipe in Texas during the early 1980’s I displayed a placard which read as follows: “Good chili is like a good poem, it should bring a tear to the eye”.
