Now I really want to see the play. Will there be chili served? It sounds wonderful. I always love when literature/art and food come together, food for the body co-mingles with food for the mind, both good for the soul!

As Dennis Quinn's father, I have great affection for him, the monologue, and the chili. I believe Don's translation of the monologue to recipe represents a refinement to be valued. When I used the ancestral recipe in Texas during the early 1980's I displayed a placard which read as follows: "Good chili is like a good poem, it should bring a tear to the eye".

I concur. The chili was a triumph and a delight, Don, exceeded only by the company. The very best times happen at the sharing of good food, and I thank you and Sarah for bringing us all to your table.

Having studied and spoken the lines a whole lot, it was a pleasure, finally, to taste the real thing. A spectacular dish - and a lovely evening. May the god of chili bless my performance as he did Don and Sarah's dinner table on Monday night.
